Discover the Myrtle Beach Area

The Myrtle Beach area has so many local attractions. Whether you are looking for something family friendly, restaurants, sporting events, amusements, water parks, there is something for everyone. A lot of the venues have outside space and are kid friendly.

Family friendly theaters in the area that provide entertainment are Carolina Opry, Alabama Theater, Legends, Pirates Voyage, and Medieval Times Dinner and Theater. The Grand 14 at Market Common and Cinemark at Coastal Grand Mall offer the latest movies if you are looking for something to do on a rainy day or just need a break from the sun or heat.

Venues with shopping, activities, and restaurants include Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, Market Commons, and Coastal Grand Mall.

Want something adult only? Try The Bowery (home of where Alabama got their start) or Crocodile Rock. If live music is your thing, check out this website that lists all live music for the day - myrtlelive.com - a lot of these venues are kid friendly.

Breweries and wineries in the area include Duplin Winery, La Bell Amie Vinyard, Grand Strand Brewing, New South Brewery, Voodo Brewing, Tidal Creek Brewhouse, Crooked Hammock Brewery, and Gordon Biersch Brewery and Restaurant. Again, the wineries and breweries have outside areas and are kid friendly.

Amusements and attractions include the Skywheel and boardwalk area in Myrtle Beach between 2nd Avenue and 14th Avenue, Family Kingdom, Myrtle Waves Water Park, the Pavilion at Broadway at the Beach provides a nice variety of rides, Broadway Grand Prix, Ripley’s Aquarium, The Wax Museum, 810 Bowling all provide lots of action. Plenty of arcade action can be had with a visit to Dave and Busters or the arcade at LuLu’s located at Barefoot Landing.

A variety of restaurants stretch along the Grand Strand. If you are looking for a restaurant along the ocean try Pier 14, Tin Roof (for a higher view of the beach), 8th Avenue Tiki or the Sea Captain’s House for a nice dinner. If you want to head into Conway try Bonfire A Smokin Taqueria for a nice southern BBQ place, Hop ‘n Wich, Crafty Rooster, Chanti’s (a local pub dedicated to Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers), or Rivertown Bistro offers a more upscale dinner. The Trestle Bakery is a nice breakfast location or a good stop for something sweet and homemade. Last but not least, Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar offers milkshakes and ice cream like you have never seen before – an absolute meal in itself!
